Edouard Mununu Kasiala

Edouard Mununu Kasiala OCSO (born August 15, 1936 in Bakanga-Pindi , Democratic Republic of the Congo ) is a Congolese religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Kikwit .

Life

Mununu Kasiala joined the Trappist order and was ordained a priest on August 20, 1967 .

On 8 November 1984 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Aquae Flaviae and auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Kikwit. He received the episcopal ordination on March 24, 1985 by the Bishop of Kikwit, Alexander Mbuka-Nzundu . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Idiofa , Eugène Biletsi Onim , and the Bishop of Popokabaka , André Mayamba Mabuti Kathongo .

On March 10, 1986, Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Kikwit as the successor to the late Alexander Mbuka-Nzundu. As bishop Mununu Kasiala advocates, among other things, the literacy of women, the further education of the clergy and the education of young people.

On November 19, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
