In 1895 Burgauner restored the Marienkirche, today the Evangelical Church of Our Lady , in Memmingen under the direction of Rudolf von Seitz . From 1896–1898 he studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna , where he also worked with the Kott and Schönbrunner company. Around 1902 the painter returned to Castelrotto, where he shaped the village image in an ambitious program by painting several house facades.
