Eduard "Edi" Engelberger (born January 26, 1940 in Lucerne ) is a self-employed entrepreneur and Swiss politician ( FDP ). Between 1995 and 2011 he was a member of the FDP parliamentary group on the National Council.

Political

From April 1972 to April 1982 Engelberger was a local councilor in Stans , from April 1978 he held the office of mayor. From May 1974 to June 1982 he was also a member of the district administrator ( cantonal parliament ), where he held the vice-presidency in 1981 and 1982. From 1982 to 1996 he was a member of the government council of Nidwalden .

Engelberger was President of the Swiss Ski Association ( Swiss-Ski ) from 1992 to 2000 . From 2004 to 2010 he was President of the Swiss Trade Association .

Private

Engelberger is married to Doris Engelberger-Blättler and has three grown children.
