The FDP-Liberal parliamentary group of the Federal Assembly (Groupe libéral-radical / Gruppo liberale-radicale / Fracziun liberaldemocraticaist) is the parliamentary group of the Swiss party “ FDP.The Liberals ” in the federal parliament . In parliamentary operations, the parliamentary group is abbreviated as  RL .

fraction

The FDP-Liberal parliamentary group represents 16.4 percent of the voters ( 2015 elections ) in Switzerland. It consists of 33 National Councilors (NR) and 13 Councils of States (SR) of the FDP party, the Liberals . Among them are 8 women: 7 national councilors and 1 member of the Council of States, the proportion of women in the parliamentary group is 17.4 percent.

The parliamentary group is independent of other party organs in its decisions, but it relies on the goals and programs of the party. The nomination of the party's Federal Council candidates is the sole responsibility of the parliamentary group.

The FDP-Liberal Fraction was founded after the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2003 , about 5 years before the merger of the Free Democratic Party of Switzerland (FDP) and the Liberal Party of Switzerland (LPS) , by the national and state councils of both parties. The joint parliamentary group paved the way for the establishment of the union of liberals and liberals (2005) and then the merger party “ FDP. Liberals ” (2009). The parliamentary group has had its current name since November 2008. From 2005 to 2008 it was known as the “Freedom Liberal parliamentary group”. Before 2005, the “Free Democratic Fraction” (FDP parliamentary group, abbreviation R) and the “Liberal parliamentary group” (LPS parliamentary group, abbreviation L) existed in the Federal Assembly.
