Union of Radicals and Liberals
The Union of Liberals and Liberals (UFL) was an alliance of the Liberal Democratic Party of Switzerland (FDP) and the Liberal Party of Switzerland (LPS). After the UFL was founded, the FDP and LPS remained independent parties with their own party organs. Thereafter, several cantonal parties of the Freinns and the Liberals completed their merger at cantonal level. In 2008, the Young Liberals also merged with the Young Liberal Party of Switzerland. Finally, on January 1, 2009, the two Union parties merged at national level to form a common liberal party, the FDP. The Liberals , thus the UFL was dissolved by its founders on December 31, 2008.
