Friedrich Wüest

Friedrich Wüest (born May 1, 1843 in Dagmersellen ; † February 14, 1902 in Lucerne ; resident in Büron ) was a Swiss politician .

The son of the court president and smallholder Leonz Wüest had a liberal political attitude. He studied architecture at the Zurich Polytechnic . From 1867 to 1871 he worked as a building construction inspector for the canton of Lucerne . From 1866 to 1871 and from 1891 to 1902 he was a member of the Lucerne City Council (legislature), and in the years in between, he was a member of the City Council (executive). In 1890/91 he was mayor of Lucerne . From December 5, 1881 to April 1891, Wüest was a member of the National Council for the Canton of Lucerne. In 1884/85 he presided over the Swiss Trade Association , and from 1891 to 1900 he was a member of the board of the Gotthard Railway Company . He was a co-founder of the Lucerne Friedental cemetery and was buried there.
