Eduard Schwoiser
Eduard Schwoiser (born March 18, 1826 in Brüsau in Moravia , † September 3, 1902 in Starnberg ) was a German history painter .
Life
Eduard Schwoiser was the son of an artist from Brüsau in Schönhengstgau . On January 30, 1851, he enrolled at the Royal Art Academy in Munich for painting and was transferred to Professor Philipp Foltz's class on April 12, 1853 . At the academy he became friends with Wilhelm Hauschild , with whom he later participated in numerous joint projects. So u. a. as early as 1854, when he created a Sebastian altar for the St. Josef church in Starnberg , Hauschild took over the second, a Petrus altar.
The painting is one of Schwoiser's most famous works
which he created in 1869 on behalf of King Maximilian II for the Historical Picture Gallery of the Munich Maximilianeum together with eight scenes from Bavarian history.
On behalf of King Ludwig II, he painted for the New Herrenchiemsee Palace :
- Astraeus and Aurora, an allegory of day and night
- Ideal meeting of King Ludwig II with his idol, the Sun King Ludwig XIV.
- Phoebus Apollo in the dance of the Olympian gods
- Mercury as messenger of the gods

For Neuschwanstein Castle :
