Eduard von Keller

Ernst Eduard Karl Kasimir Graf von Keller (* July 7, 1796 in Stedten an der Gera ; † August 17, 1877 in Mayen ) was a German administrative officer.

Eduard von Keller was the fourth of eleven children, and the third son of the Prussian chamberlain , real receding and State Minister , Count Christoph von Keller , and his wife Amalie Countess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg-Ludwigsburg (1771-1853) at the family seat castle Stedten at Erfurt born. His grandfather was the Saxon-Gotha Minister Christoph Dietrich von Keller .

The Russian General Field Marshal Ludwig Adolf Peter zu Sayn-Wittgenstein was his uncle. One of his brothers was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly Gustav von Keller .

Career

Von Keller studied at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the University of Jena . In 1814 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Göttingen. In Jena he joined the original fraternity in 1816 , but remained lifelong old master of the Corps Vandalia Göttingen. In 1818 he was spokesman for the fraternity and, together with Heinrich von Gagern, a member of the board of directors and of the closer association. At the first Burschentag in April 1818 he was a member of the Jena parliament and in May 1818 played a key role in founding the Leipzig fraternity.

After completing his studies, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1852 to 1857 he was district administrator for the district of Mayen .
