Georg Eduard von Rindfleisch (born December 15, 1836 in Köthen (Anhalt) , † December 6, 1908 in Würzburg ) was a German anatomist and pathologist . He founded neovitalism in 1888 .

Life

Beef studied medicine from 1856 to 1860 at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg , the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1856 he was reciprocated in the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . With a thesis on Rudolf Virchow he became in 1859 a doctorate . Until 1861 he stayed as an assistant at Virchow. In 1862 he completed his habilitation at the Royal University of Breslau . In the same year he was appointed lecturer in pathological anatomy at the University of Zurich . Associate professor since 1864In 1865 he switched to the chair for pathological anatomy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1874 he received the call to Würzburg. As the sixth holder of the chair for pathology, he had the first independent pathological institute of the University of Würzburg built. He retired in 1906 .
