Eduardo Duarte e Silva

Eduardo Duarte e Silva (born January 27, 1852 in Florianópolis , Santa Catarina , Brazil , † October 16, 1924 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Uberaba .

Life

Eduardo Duarte e Silva received on 19 December 1874, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 23, 1891 Pope Leo XIII appointed him . to the bishop of Goiás . The Camerlengo , Lucido Maria Cardinal Parocchi , donated him episcopal ordination on February 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Guatemala , Ricardo Casanova y Estrada , and the Bishop Emeritus of Goiás, Joaquim Arcoverde de Albuquerque Cavalcanti .

On November 6, 1907, Pope Pius X appointed him the first bishop of Uberaba. Pope Pius XI accepted on March 14, 1923 the resignation put forward by Eduardo Duarte e Silva and appointed him titular Archbishop of Iconium .
