Eduardo Manchón Molina (born July 24, 1930 in Barcelona ; † September 29, 2010 there ) was a Spanish football player .
The striker on the left flank belonged to the legendary " Five Cups Barça ", which in 1952 won all five possible cups.
Between 1950 and 1957 he scored 88 goals in 201 games for FC Barcelona, which experienced one of its most successful periods during this time. The left footer, who was also able to finish with the right one, won the Spanish championship twice, the Spanish Cup four times, the Copa Eva Duarte twice and the Latin Cup once with the club .
Career
Manchón, son of a hard-working Murcia family , joined FC Barcelona at the age of 16 . Initially, the Catalan played for SD España Industrial , which was then the reserve team of FC Barcelona. On the 5th match day of the 1950/51 season Manchón gave his league debut for the first team against Valencia CF and also scored his first goal immediately.
Together with László Kubala , César , Estanislao Basora , he formed one of the most dangerous strikes in the history of the club. In the 1951/52 season, the club managed to win all five trophies (championship, cup, Latin Cup, Copa Eva Duarte and Trofeo Martini & Rossi).
After his time at Barça, he played in the 1957/58 season for the first division club Granada CF and later for Deportivo La Coruña , Club Atlètic Ibèria and CE l'Hospitalet .
Manchon played for the Spanish national team once in his career . That was during a qualifier for the 1954 World Cup , a 1-0 loss to Turkey . In addition, the Catalan can also record a commitment for the Catalan football team .
After a long illness, he died on September 29, 2010 at the age of 80.
