Edward Richard Basden (born February 15, 1983 in Maryland ) is an American basketball player .

In college he played for the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. In 2005 he signed up for the NBA Entry Draft , but was not taken by any team. In the Summer League he then fought for a place in the Chicago Bulls team and played 19 games for the Bulls in the 2005/2006 season. After the season he was traded to Cleveland. There his contract was dissolved and Basden went to Europe and joined the Fenerbahçe Ülkerspor team in 2006/2007. He then played for Cholet Basket in France. In 2007/08 he was under contract with Telekom Baskets Bonn , where he was signed for the injured Jason Conley during the season . Then he tried again at the Miami Heat for the NBA. However, he was deleted from the squad shortly before the start of the season. Basden then moved again to Turkey and went basket hunting for Mersin BSB in the 2008/2009 season . For the 2009/2010 season he moved back to America and signed a contract with the Austin Toros in the NBA Development League .

He is currently playing for Marousi Athens in Greece.
