Edwin Bormann
Edwin Bormann (born April 14, 1851 in Leipzig ; † May 3, 1912 there ) was a German writer. He also published under the pseudonym Bliemchen .
Life
After he had to break off a degree in architecture that he had begun at the Royal Saxon Polytechnic in Dresden in 1867 for health reasons, he studied natural sciences, art history, German and philosophy in Leipzig and Bonn from 1869 to 1875 . He then returned to his hometown Leipzig, where he founded his own publishing house in 1888 to publish his works. In 1909, together with Georg Bötticher and Arthur von Oettingen, he founded the Leoniden Artists' Association , which in 1918 donated a memorial plaque to him and Bötticher at Leipzig City Hall . For decades he worked for the satirical and humorous German weekly Fliegende Blätter .

Bormann stood out primarily as a Saxon dialect poet. In addition, he wrote poetry collages like his Schilleressenz , in which he assembled quotations to a new text in the style of the Cento . The title of his book Every Thierchen Has Its Pläsierchen entered the German treasure trove of quotations.
In several publications he also advocated the so-called Shakespeare-Bacon theory , which Francis Bacon holds for the author of the works published under the name of the actor William Shakespeare . In contrast to other proponents of the theory, he tried - by his own admission - to provide evidence by showing an "indissoluble connection" between the Shakespeare poems and the scientific and philosophical works of Bacon. The storm is a parable on Bacon's natural philosophy, Lear on economics and Hamlet on anthropology.
