Taeter Aachen is a division of the transport company Transdev Rheinland in public transport .
The division emerged from the transport company of the same name, which was founded in Aachen in 1934 , and, together with its subsidiaries in Düsseldorf , Krefeld , Mönchengladbach and Dresden, has developed into one of the largest private bus companies in Germany. On May 31, 2006 the company was renamed Veolia Verkehr Rheinland GmbH (today Transdev Rheinland) and at the same time it was merged with the Rheinisch-Bergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft from Mettmann.
overview
According to its own information, the division currently employs 129 people and generates annual sales of around 8 million euros. With 66 buses, the founding member of the Aachen Transport Association (AVV) operated lines with its own concessions until December 9, 2017. Since then, the company has been operating as a subcontractor on scheduled services. It also operates school bus services to several large schools in the Aachen area , in Krefeld and in the Lower Rhine Alps . It also carries out coach, professional, occasional and EU transports as well as contract trips for other bus companies and rail replacement services . As a partner of Messe Düsseldorf , Taeter has been responsible for their parking space shuttle since 2016 .
Culture bus Aachen
A special feature of Taeter Aachen is the Aachen culture bus, a range of excursions for schools and kindergartens to various cultural institutions in Aachen. The bus must be booked in advance and has fixed prices for transportation and for any cancellation.
Lines operated by perpetrators
From 1952 to 2017 Taeter operated the Alsdorf city bus . In addition, two lines of the Herzogenrath city bus and the regional bus lines 31 ( Alsdorf Annapark - Neusen ), 59 ( Duffesheide - Bardenberg Hospital ), 68 ( Aachen Bushof - Simmerath - Rurberg (- Einruhr ), together with RVE ), 69 (Alsdorf Bf - Herzogenrath Bf ), 89 (Alsdorf Bf - Herzogenrath Bf (- Herzogenrath School Center)) and 431 ( Geilenkirchen Bf - Übach-Palenberg Bf - Baesweiler , together with WestVerkehr ) operated by Taeter. Since December 10, 2017 Taeter no longer has its own liner concessions and only drives as a contractor, both for ASEAG and other companies, which is why membership in the AVV ended on this date.
Vehicle fleet
Since the takeover by the then Connex Verkehr GmbH, the fleet has consisted almost exclusively of EvoBus vehicles, with Mercedes-Benz vehicles of the types O 405 , O 407 and O 405 N making up the lion's share, all of which have since been retired.
Used vehicles currently make up the largest part of the fleet, which has been taken over by various Veolia sister companies, for example from the RMV area. These include vehicles of the Citaro , Scania OmniLink , VDL , Solaris , Volvo and Neoplan types . The Citaro and MAN Lion's City buses that have been newly acquired over the years are also still in operation. A few S 315 NF Setra vehicles are also used.
In the case of coaches, there is a colorful mix of the latest generation of vehicles from different manufacturers in the fleet.
Holdings
Taeter was one of the founding shareholders of Düren Trans GmbH, founded in 2001, which later traded under the name Rurtalbus and was dissolved in 2016.
