Albert Benno Wolfgang Egbert von Frankenberg and Proschlitz (born December 11, 1841 in Malschöwen , †  November 15, 1898 in Flensburg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Egbert comes from the Silesian noble family Frankenberg . He was the third child of Moritz von Frankenberg and Proschlitz (1803–1881) and his wife Luise, née Freiin von Koschkull (1802–1870).

Military career

After attending school, he joined the 3rd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army on May 24, 1859 as an avantageur . There Frankenberg and Proschlitz was promoted to secondary lieutenant on August 18, 1860 and from April 1861 acted as adjutant of the fusilier battalion for three years . With the regiment he took part in the battles near Trautenau and Königgrätz and the battle near Tobitschau in 1866 during the war against Austria .

After the peace treaty , Frankenberg and Proschlitz became adjutant of the 5th Infantry Brigade on October 30, 1866 . As Prime Lieutenant , he was transferred to Infantry Regiment No. 50 on March 16, 1869 while remaining in this command . In the war against France in 1870/71 he fought at Gravelotte and Villiers , took part in the sieges of Metz and Paris and was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class for his achievements .

In the further course of his military career Frankenberg and Proschlitz was promoted to colonel on June 17, 1889 and appointed commander of the 4th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 72 on November 19, 1889 . In the same capacity he was from January 27, 1890 to June 17, 1892 commander of the grenadier regiment "King Friedrich Wilhelm IV." (1st Pomeranian) No. 2 in Stettin . He then took over as major general of the 4th Infantry Brigade . From April 18, 1896, Frankenberg and Proschlitz were commander of the 18th division in Flensburg, while at the same time being promoted to lieutenant general . He died in this position on November 15, 1898.

Since 1867 Frankenberg he was married to Anna Kolbe (1846-1907), a daughter of the District Court Councilor Victor Ewald Moritz Kolbe (1809-1888). Their children together were:
