Eggert Detlev von Bernstorff

Eggert Detlev von Bernstorff (baptized December 21, 1644 ; † 1707 in Lübeck ) was a royal Danish major general and chief of the Oldenburg cavalry regiment .

He was the son of Joachim Bernstorff († August 30, 1682) from the Teschow family (Techau) and his wife Ilsabe von Perkentin . His mother was the daughter of Hartwig von Perkentin from the house of Zecher - Canon in Ratzeburg - and Elisabeth von Lepel -Grambow .

Life

In 1667 he was a Swedish cornet in the Lützow company, but then became a Danish officer and in November 1675 was promoted to Rittmeister in the cavalry regiment under Gottfried Rauch. On February 8, 1677, he was heard as a witness in the Sandberg affair. In September 1677 he became a major in the Goltz Regiment, whose commander at the time was Claus von Oertzen , who received the regiment in September 1677. In October 1677 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. During the Northern War he was honored as a scout on October 11, 1678. On January 16, 1679 he rose to head of the regiment. In March of that year the regiment was transferred from Helsingborg to Landskrona to come to Zealand in May . In 1682 the regiment was renamed: instead of the Oldenburg cavalry regiment , it was allowed to be called Bernstorff's cavalry regiment . On July 14, 1701 he left the regiment and on July 23, 1701 he received his farewell as major general. He died in Lübeck in 1707.

family

He was married to Anna von der Lühe (* 1655), who was the daughter of Andreas von der Lühe (1620–1690) from the Dambeck family and his wife Margarethe Katharina von Bülow . The couple had two daughters:

  • Anna Elisabeth (1693–1766) ∞ Hans Albrecht von Plüskow , district administrator and heir to Belitz and Daschow .
  • Ilsabe ∞ Ulrich Friedrich von Grabow († August 4, 1737) on Gömptow
