Egon Wrobel (born April 11, 1939 in Insterburg ) is a German ceramist and jewelry designer.

Life

After training as a goldsmith from 1956 to 1959, Egon Wrobel studied jewelry design at the College for Applied Arts in Heiligendamm . He then continued his studies from 1962 to 1967 in the field of ceramics at the Halle University of Industrial Design, Burg Giebichenstein , where the metal sculptor Karl Müller was one of his teachers . In 1967/68 he initially worked as a research assistant in the Berlin-Grünau concrete plant , and since then has worked as a freelance jewelry designer and ceramist. He was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR .

Egon Wrobel became known, among other things, through his series Heads , from which his artistic development from 1965 to the present can be read. Based on his expressive series Masked , you can see how Wrobel deals with current ideas and trends even today.

He has designed the winning ceramics for various festivals and competitions several times, for example in 2008 for the World fashion film festival and in 2010 for the German fashion film award . He designed several ceramic sculptures for the club ships AIDAvita and AIDAaura .

Egon Wrobel lives and works in Stahnsdorf .
