Ehlanzeni is a district within the Mpumalanga Province in South Africa . It has 1,688,615 inhabitants (as of October 2011) on a total area of ​​27,896 square kilometers. The district administration is based in Mbombela . The district is named after the Zulu and siSwati names for the Lowveld and is located immediately north of Swaziland .
