City of Mbombela (English: City of Mbombela Local Municipality ) is a municipality in the Ehlanzeni district in the South African province of Mpumalanga . The seat of the parish is Barberton .

The municipality is named after the municipality's largest city, Mbombela , which is also the provincial capital. The municipality also has a share in the Kruger National Park , Skukuza is the largest settlement within the park. The mother tongue of around 79% of the population is Siswati .

The population increased in five years from 658,604 (2011 census) to 695,913 (2016).

In 2016, the Umjindi municipality came to the Mbombela municipality, which has since been called the City of Mbombela . The administrative seat was Barberton, which was previously Umjindi's seat. In 2011 the former municipality of Mbombela had 588,794 inhabitants, Umjindi 67,156 inhabitants.

The community is run by the African National Congress ; Mayor is Sibusiso P. Mathonsi.
