Nkangala is a district within Mpumalanga Province in South Africa . It has 1,308,129 inhabitants (as of October 2011) on a total area of 16,758 square kilometers. The district administration is based in Middelburg . The district is named after the Zulu term for highveld . Most of the cities in the district are in the Highveld.
