Steve Tshwete (English: Steve Tshwete Local Municipality ; formerly Middelburg ) is a municipality in the Nkangala district in the South African province of Mpumalanga . The seat of the municipality is Middelburg . The community name refers to the anti- apartheid fighter and minister Steve Tshwete (1938–2002), who was a member of the African National Congress (ANC).

The church is run by the ANC; Mayor is Mike Masina.
