Dr JS Moroka ( English Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality ) is a municipality in the South African district of Nkangala in the Mpumalanga province . The administrative seat of the municipality is Siyabuswa . The ANC has the majority in the local council.

The community was named after James Moroka , who was president of the ANC from 1949 to 1952. The municipality covers an area of ​​1416 square kilometers.

geography

The municipality is located in the northeast of the province and shares a large part of the municipality boundary with the Limpopo province . In the south it borders on the municipality of Thembisile Hani and in the south-west on the province of Gauteng . In the center of the community is the Rhenosterkop Dam (also Mkhombo Dam ). The Elands River flows through the reservoir. The camel flows into the Elands in the municipality. The main traffic artery in the municipality is the R568, which joins the R 573 at the eastern municipality boundary.
