history

The oldest traces of settlement in the form of Bronze Age barrows can be found in the nearby forest areas Nadel and Schorn. The first documentary mention probably comes from the year 1368. Where Eickhoff is referred to as “Ekhov” in the fiefdom of the year. Since the village was founded, Eickhoff has belonged to the neighboring Steinhausen church and politically to the Büren rule. In 1734 the place got its first chapel. Due to the location of the village on the western edge of the bishopric Paderborn to the Archdiocese of Cologne, the place was repeatedly damaged during disputes between the two countries. In 1803 Eickhoff went to Prussia and politically belonged to Steinhausen. After the founding of the Kingdom of Westphalia, it belonged to this. At that time the place was separated from Steinhausen again and in 1811 it achieved its political independence. Eickhoff has been part of the Büren municipality since January 1, 1975 and thus lost its political independence.

traffic

The place is on Landstrasse 747, which connects Eickhoff with the village of Langenstrasse in the Soest district.
