The Federal Customs Administration EZV ( French Administration fédérale des douanes AFD , Italian Amministrazione federale delle dogane AFD , Romansh Administraziun federala da duana AFD , English Federal Customs Administration ) is a federal authority of the Swiss Confederation . It is an office of the Federal Department of Finance FDF . As part of a comprehensive reorganization and amalgamation of border guards and customs ("DaziT" transformation program), the Federal Council intends to rename the FCA to BAZG (Federal Office for Customs and Border Security).

tasks

The FCV collects customs duties , taxes and other charges for border clearance . These include in particular:

The FCA works together with other foreign authorities in the context of administrative and legal assistance . In addition, the FCV works across borders - on the basis of the German-Swiss police agreement - with the Federal Police (Germany) and also with German Customs .

The FCA is also responsible for implementing economic measures. For example, the FCA monitors the import and export of certain goods or compiles statistics on foreign trade and international transit traffic.

The FCA also combats the unlawful use of legally protected trademarks and intellectual property (trademark piracy). The correct use of the fineness information and manufacturer's marks (hallmarks) of goods made from precious metals or goods in connection with precious metals is also ensured through close cooperation with the Swiss Federal Precious Metals Control. In addition to the buyers of these goods in Switzerland, this also serves the Swiss watch and jewelry industry, which is to be protected from imported plagiarism.
