action

In the days of the Battle of Fort Alamo, treasure from General Santa Ana's army was stolen and hidden in a secret location. His position is recorded on three playing cards belonging to three people: Army deserter General Munguja is one of them; another the bandit Murienda; the third owner is the outlaw Garrincha. When Murienda learns that Munguja is one of the other two owners, he contacts the gunslinger Billy Blood and arranges a meeting at the San Juan mission station. There he is already buried by the monks when Billy arrives.

The following night four of Munguja 's followers excavated the body in search of the map; Billy steps in and forces the men to take him to Munguja's Los Cerritos headquarters. He can get the second card into his possession, but Munguja counteracts it and imprisons him. With the help of two Mexican women, Billy escapes and reaches San Juan, where he murders all the monks and finds the grave empty. The third man, Garrincha, steps in when Billy has only Munguja, who is responsible for the murders, to go. The final showdown in the monastery, where the cards lead, decides in favor of Blood.

criticism

Christian Keßler was not very enthusiastic because “Bolzoni's script has gotten really sluggish for once and doesn't give the characters much of their own in the evil game. […] The film is sometimes quite brutal. " Film Mese judged," the umpteenth latecomer western, despite its wealth of creative deaths, could not cover up the serial nature of the film. "The lexicon of international films wrote that it was" raw and unimaginative. " Spaghetti Western. "
