action
Casey Owens enrolled in college after two years in the army. He befriends Chuck Manning, who, like Casey, is a car fan. Casey soon falls in love with Chuck's sister Eadie. Chuck leaves college to work in his father's workshop. He wants to develop a special gas turbine further. While working in the workshop, Casey competes in races and soon becomes a well-known racing driver.
Multi-million dollar racing fan Stanford Rogers hires Casey to build two turbine-powered cars for an endurance race. Casey, who ignores scientific advances, does not believe in testing in the wind tunnel. During a high-speed test, he causes a total write-off and is then fired by Rogers.
With the help of his parents and the parents of Chuck and Eadie, Casey is able to buy Rogers' newly developed turbine. This time he takes the new knowledge of science into account and builds a new car with the turbine. After Casey wins the endurance race and uses the prize money to pay off his debt, Casey marries Eadie and goes back to college.
Reviews
"An experienced staging, mentally undemanding-upright teenage film (...) The taste is entirely geared towards a young American audience, underlaid with a cautious educational tendency."
"Cheap action and horsepower cult from 1964"
