The single-flowered spring star ( Ipheion uniflorum ) is a species of the genus star flowers ( Ipheion ) in the subfamily of the leek family (Allioideae).

The single-flowered spring star is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 20 to 30 centimeters. This (autumn) spring green geophyte forms onions as persistence organs. The basal leaves are fleshy, measure 20 to 25 × 0.4 to 0.7 centimeters and have a leek odor.
The solitary flowers are 2 to 3 (4) centimeters in diameter. The perigone lobes are spread out in a star shape, lilac-white, greenish on the underside and longer or slightly shorter than the perigone tube.
The flowering time is in April, sometimes it begins as early as March and lasts until May.
Occurrence
The single-flowered spring star occurs in Uruguay and in warm temperate Argentina in grass steppes. The species was naturalized in southern Britain and France.

The single-flowered spring star is rarely used as an ornamental plant in borders and rock gardens or as a spice . It has been in culture since 1832 at the latest.
