Location of Einfeld in Schleswig-Holstein

Einfeld is located in the north of the city of Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein and is one of nine districts.

geography

Einfeld is the northernmost part of the city of Neumünster. In the north, Einfeld is delimited by the Einfelder See and in the south by the Tungendorfer Graben.

history

Remnants of early history can still be seen at the Margarethenschanze on Einfelder See , where a hill fort was built in the 9th century . In 1144, the community Einfeld was first based on a deed of donation from Count Adolf III. mentioned as "Ennienvelde".

In 1296 Einfeld was acquired by the Bordesholm monastery . After the monastery was dissolved in 1566 during the Reformation, Einfeld belonged to the then Bordesholm office . With the formation of the districts in 1867, Einfeld belonged to the Kiel district (later the Bordesholm district ). When the districts were formed in 1889, Einfeld was assigned to the district of Großharrie.

With the dissolution of the district of Bordesholm in 1932, the communities of the district of Großharrie were assigned to the district of Plön except for Einfeld . Einfeld came to the district of Bordesholm and thus to the district of Rendsburg . In 1934 Einfeld left the administrative district of Bordesholm and formed an independent district or, from 1948 , was an unofficial municipality.

In the course of the district reform of 1970, the community of Einfeld was dissolved and incorporated into the city of Neumünster.

traffic

Einfeld can be reached by car via the federal highway 7 , exit Neumünster-Nord, or the state road 318 and district road 5. The former Einfeld station on the Hamburg-Altona-Kiel railway line has been downgraded to a stop .

Nature reserves

One of the nature reserves of Einfeld is the Dosenmoor , an approximately 521 hectare large Atlantic high moor, which is to be preserved and restored. The Dosenmoor got its name from "Daso de Ennigge", a peasant knight who lived there . As early as 8000 BC This area was inhabited.

Another nature reserve is part of the western shore of the Einfelder See .
