Iron Eversteiner

The Eiserne Eversteiner is a European folk music prize that is awarded in Germany . The winners have been determined by a jury and the audience every year since 1992 at the “Folk Autumn in Plauener Malzhaus” . The winners are therefore also referred to as the "Folkherbst Prize Winners".

Naming and trophy

The name "Iron Eversteiner" refers to the Count family of Eversteiner , who lived in Plauen . An iron trophy , which was created by Jürgen B. Wolff and Peter Luban and depicts a Count Everstein , is presented.

Selection process

Bands and soloists from the music genre “ Folk ” based in Europe can apply for the »Iron Eversteiner« . The application deadline is mid-March each year. Who is nominated by the applicants for the "Folk Autumn in the Malzhaus Plauen" will be determined in a public selection party.

During the “Folk Autumn” the bands and soloists will be judged by a jury and by the audience. The expert jurors grade the audience according to their personal preference. The "Eiserne Eversteiner" has been awarded to joint prize winners by the jury and audience since 1998. From 1992 to 1997 separate jury and audience awards were given.
