Ekkehart Wersich

Wolf-Ekkehard Wersich (* 17th December 1959 in Hamburg ) is a German politician of the CDU .

Life

Wersich was born the son of an entrepreneur who started his own business in gardening and landscaping , and a naturopath. After graduating from high school in logistics, he completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent . He then worked for seven years in a management position in North Africa as well as in the Near and Middle East . From 1992 he worked in Hamburg and in the new federal states as an employee in the areas of tourism and passenger shipping. From 2000 onwards, he worked full-time as an assistant to the management at STAITSCH TheaterbetriebsGmbH for the Altona Theater .

Wersich has been a member of the CDU since 1980 and is politically active in the CDU local association Eppendorf / Hamburg-Hoheluft-Ost . From 1997 to 2004 he was a member of the Hamburg-Nord district assembly and there from 2001 to 2004 deputy parliamentary group chairman . Within the CDU parliamentary group he was from 1997 a representative for his local association.

From 2004 to 2011 Wersich was a member of the Hamburg Parliament and a member of the submission and urban development committee. In April 2008 he took over the chairmanship of the CDU local association Hamburg-Eppendorf / Hoheluft-Ost from his younger brother Dietrich Wersich (the then chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Hamburg parliament). Since 2018 his brother has been chairman of the local association again.

Wersich has been a member of the Hamburg-Nord district assembly again since 2011, and has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since 2014.
