El bandido Malpelo is not listed in the German speaking spaghetti westerns , which in 1971 was mainly in Spanish production and tells a revolutionary history of Mexico. It's the only western from director Giuseppe Maria Scotese . The Italian title was Il lungo giorno della violenza .

Mexico, 1912. The young European revolutionary Diego Mendoza goes in search of Pancho Villa, to whom he is supposed to hand over some important documents. He is pursued by soldiers of the government-loyal troops and taken prisoner by the bandit Malpelo in the desert. When Malpelo learns of Mendoza's order, he helps him to stand up to his pursuers and to fulfill his mission.
criticism
The Spanish critic Carlos Aguilar gave a succinct verdict: "Unremarkable".
Remarks
- The film with Eduardo Fajardo , known as a Frankist, was produced in fascist Spain in 1971 and was rarely seen in cinemas (in Italy it was immediately removed from the program).
- The identity of the main character "George Garvell" is completely a mystery .
