ElectronicPartner Handel SE is one of the largest European associations in the areas of entertainment and household electronics , IT , multimedia and telecommunications , based in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia . It has around 5,000 specialist shops and stores in Europe .
history
ElectronicPartner emerged from a wholesaler founded by Karl Friedrich Haubrich on January 18, 1937 . In 1968, the company opened its first national subsidiary outside of Germany in the Netherlands , and others followed in Austria and Switzerland in the 1990s . On October 13, 1973 the founder's sons, Edgar and Hartmut Haubrich, founded the ElectronicPartner group together with 35 independent entrepreneurs . In 1988, the specialist marketing line MEDIMAX started with the first branch in Rhede . With the takeover of Schossau in 1989, the branch network was expanded. The ElectronicPartner branch in Augsburg , founded in November 1990, was expanded just two years later with the construction of a new sales and logistics center. With the start of ElectronicPartner International on August 23, 1991, the company became a Europe-wide trading group.
International business
In January 2009 the group was transformed into a European company (SE) . In 2012 ElectronicPartner International merged with Electronic & Domestic Appliances SC to form the economic interest group E-Square . E-Square is an international group with 12,000 member companies from the entertainment electronics sector in 16 countries. These include France , Portugal , Denmark , Austria , Italy , Spain , Kazakhstan , Ukraine , Switzerland and the United Kingdom . The retail companies are among the top 5 market participants in their respective home markets. The aim of E-Square is to strengthen the position of the members through joint projects and best practice exchanges. The association also creates additional benefits for international supplier partners through the development of sustainable collaborations and long-term strategies.
Ownership
The company has been owned by the Haubrich family since the founding of the founding of the group in 1937.
Brands
Around 5,000 medium-sized companies are currently active in various strategic business areas of the ElectronicPartner group: the EP: specialist trade, the specialist retail line MEDIMAX, the technology network comTeam and the marketing line SP: ServicePartner or as a specialist dealer with its own profile. ElectronicPartner is active in online trading with web shops of the brands EP: and MEDIMAX as well as investments in pure players - such as SH Telekommunikation Deutschland GmbH with the brand sparhandy.de and the online retailer notebooksbilliger.de .
Independent specialist dealers operate under the EP brand . Special feature of EP: - Specialist dealers are extensive services.
MEDIMAX is represented as a large-scale provider at around 120 locations in Germany. MEDIMAX has its own branches and franchise locations. In addition to organic growth, the group has repeatedly taken over competitors, most recently ten houses from the ProMarkt chain sold by the Rewe Group . At the end of September 2018, MEDIMAX announced the merger with the online retailer notebooksbilliger.de . However, the merger was canceled at the end of November.
Since it was founded in 1984 as a system house group, the technology network has grown to around 800 comTeam partners with around 10,000 employees. In the business-to-business area, these support medium-sized commercial enterprises and public clients with IT and telecommunications solutions . The newly founded start-up network growr has also been part of comTeam since the end of 2017 .
As a service partner , around 617 specialist dealers in Germany realize their business concept based on services.
