With the focus on Portugal at the 1997 Frankfurt Book Fair , the publisher made a name for itself early on with selected Portuguese literature: the poet António Botto and the narrator José Riço Direitinho represent a program that brings together classics and contemporary authors in German translation. Above all, the new edition of Camões' epic " Die Lusiaden " in 1999 in the translation by Hans-Joachim Schaeffer attracted wide media attention, as it was the first complete broadcast in over 100 years. Translations and bilingual editions by other international authors are now also part of the publishing program. B. from the Greek ( Odysseas Elytis , Nikos Kazantzakis , Alexandros Papadiamantis , Jannis Ritsos , Jorgos Seferis ), from the Catalan ( Jaime Gil de Biedma , Baltasar Porcel , Josep Maria de Sagarra ), from the Italian ( Gabriele d'Annunzio , Guido Gozzano ) and from French literature ( Marceline Desbordes-Valmore , Victor Hugo , Pierre de Ronsard , Marcel Schwob , Paul Verlaine ).
