plant

Holbein is the author of original and weird essays and audio texts, in which he presents the fruits of his erudition to the reader and listener and rearranges them, up to and including the novel Isis, which is composed entirely of literary quotations .

A special feature of his work are literary double portraits, for example in the volume Unequal Twins (2002) or in Ein Chinese in Rom (2013) about Jean Paul and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe . The comparisons that Holbein makes between personalities or things that at first glance appear to be very opposite serve to work out a complementary relationship between them or to discover a universal analogy.

Holbein writes regularly for magazines concrete , Frankfurter Rundschau , FAZ , Die Welt and Oya . Holbein has published more than 1200 publications so far .
