Ewald Rumpf (born October 6, 1943 in Poznan ) is a German psychologist , violinist , sculptor and painter .

education

Rumpf went to school in Flensburg , Munich and Nuremberg from 1949 to 1963 . He attended the conservatory in Nuremberg and was a violinist with the Franconian Symphony Orchestra from 1963 to 1965. From 1965 to 1969 he studied musicology and Indo-European linguistics at the University of Erlangen . From 1969 to 1971 Rumpf was an assistant at the GfK Nuremberg research institute for psychological market research . In 1972 he became a professor for psychology at the University of Kassel . In 1979 he received his doctorate in philosophy . In 1979 he was appointed professor by the Hessian Prime Minister. From 1979 1981 he was visiting professor for psychology at the “Ecole Nationale des Affaires Sociales” in Yaoundé . Since 1981 he has been a professor at the University of Kassel again. Between 1986 and 1993 Rumpf gave several chamber concerts in Hessen .

University professor

Rumpf has been Professor of Psychology at the University of Kassel since 1972 . Rumpf's area of ​​expertise relates to the psychological interpretation of myths , fairy tales and dreams . Rumpf has published several books on the psychological interpretation of Greek myths. He gives lectures on psychology, music and art and also gives sculpture workshops .

sculptor

Rumpf has been working artistically as a sculptor since 1989 . Based on Pop Art , he combines formal peculiarities with a typical Eastern European symbolism.

He created life-size bronze sculptures on the marketplaces of Homberg , Rotenburg an der Fulda , Beiseförth and Obermelsungen made of bronze , concrete and ceramics . In 2018 he modeled his clay figure Isolde on the market square in Homberg from the clay from the clay pit Krug in Remsfeld.

Hull sculptures decorate public places in Nuremberg , Munich and Vattaro in Italy .

He lives in Remsfeld , part of the Knüllwald community in northern Hesse .
