Vattaro ( Vatàr in the Trentino dialect) is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) Altopiano della Vigolana and until 2015 was an independent municipality in Trentino in the autonomous region of Trentino-South Tyrol .
geography
Vattaro is located about eleven kilometers southeast of Trento at an altitude of 689 m slm. The Pian dei Pradi fraction still belonged to the former municipality. Until it was incorporated, it was part of the Alta Valsugana e Bersntol valley community . The neighboring communities were Besenello , Bosentino , Calceranica al Lago and Centa San Nicolò .
history
On January 1, 2016, Vattaro merged with the municipalities of Bosentino , Centa San Nicolò and Vigolo Vattaro to form the new municipality of Altopiano della Vigolana.
traffic
The Strada Statale 349 di Val d'Assa e Pedemontana Costo runs through the former municipal area from Trento to Costabissara .
