Research focus
Among other things, Binder deals with epigenetics and has examined how stress is reflected in the genome and in this way "can be passed on over generations". Possible consequences would be mental illnesses in children and grandchildren. Studies would show that a Erlebtes in childhood trauma has an effect on subsequent pregnancy. Men, too, pass on traumatic experiences to their offspring via epigenetic signals from their sperm .
