Elisabeth Dering (born March 25, 1921 in Husum , † December 5, 1997 in Aschaffenburg ) was a German painter .

Life

Elisabeth Dering was the seventh child of the Spethmann family and a great-granddaughter of Theodor Storm . From 1941 to 1944 she studied painting with Professor Hermann Kaspar in Munich . Shortly before the end of the war, she returned to her place of birth. In 1946 she married the doctor Dr. Karl Dering and came to Aschaffenburg with him in 1954 .

In addition to her own painting work, it was particularly important to her to pass on her knowledge and also to exchange it. Therefore, in 1963, she opened the “Dering Gallery” on Dalbergstrasse in Aschaffenburg's old town. It became a meeting place for lovers of art, music and literature.

Dering had numerous exhibitions with her paintings, mostly in bold colors, alone or together with her friends and local art colleagues Helmut Albert, Willibald Blum, Anton Bruder, Helmut Gehrig, Karin Kruck, Ludobar Mossora, Siegfried Rischar , Walter Roos , Bruno Supernok, Gunter Ullrich and Ernst Vollmer. Exhibitions found u. a. in Aschaffenburg, Bamberg , Bonn , Munich , Offenburg , Schweinfurt and Würzburg .

Her works are in public (Neue Staatsgalerie Munich, museums of the city of Aschaffenburg) and in private ownership. Her grave is in the Aschaffenburg old town cemetery.
