Elisabeth Markstein (born October 27, 1977 in Zwickau / Saxony ) is a German singer , actress , musical artist and singing teacher.

Life

Elisabeth Markstein grew up in Hartenstein (Saxony) in a music-influenced environment. After graduating from high school, from 1997 to 2002 she studied singing at the Dresden University of Music in the fields of jazz , rock and pop as well as musical at the Stella Academy in Hamburg . Since then she has been seen in numerous German theaters in leading and supporting roles, e. B. Kassel State Theater , National Theater Mannheim , Eisenach State Theater , Urban Theater Chemnitz , Dresden State Operetta , Winterstein-Theater Annaberg-Buchholz , Burgfestspiele Bad-Vilbel , and toured with musical productions and bands in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

2001 Markstein was portrayed by the MDR in the TV show Credible . From 2006 to 2007 she performed the program “Human Voices” - The Night of Voices in the Tipi at the Chancellery , directed by Pepe Danquart . Also in Berlin she sang as a Qi-Singer in the Reveu “Qi, a palace fantasy” from 2008 to 2010 at the Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin.

In 2010, Markstein and her jazz trio were one of the top acts at the international music and theater festival KulturPur . From 2011 to 2013 she performed as a vocal soloist in the Palazzo-Spiegelpalästen Berlin and Stuttgart. Together with Cornelia Drese and Sonja Schauer, she has formed the women's trio "Swingbell's" since 2013 and plays swing in the style of the 1930s and 1940s in changing programs and formats.

In 2015 Markstein performed as a soloist at the first stadium concert of the Dresden Kreuzchor in the Dresden Dynamo Stadium.
