Eliseu van de Weijer

Eliseu van de Weijer OCarm (born December 29, 1880 in Harderwijk , Gelderland Province , Netherlands ; † January 25, 1966 ) was a Dutch religious , Roman Catholic bishop and prelate of Paracatu .

Life

Eliseu van de Weijer entered the Carmelite order and received the sacrament of ordination on June 17, 1905 after studying Catholic theology .

Pope Pius XII appointed him on May 25, 1940 as the first prelate of the Territorial Prelature Paracatu, established in 1929, and titular bishop of Gor . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Benedetto Aloisi Masella , donated him episcopal ordination on October 27 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Cuiabá , Francisco de Aquino Correa SDB , and the Bishop of Barra do Piraí , José André Coimbra .

On April 14, 1962, Pope John XXIII. resigned as prelate of Paracatu.
