Ella Pancera

Gabriele Pancera called Ella (born August 15, 1876 in Vienna ; † May 10, 1932 in Bad Ischl ) was an Austrian pianist .

The Villa Vockner in Bad Ischl houses the Haenel Pancera family museum.

Ella Pancera received her first lessons at the private lyceum Institut Hanausek , then at the Vienna Conservatory with Julius Epstein , Theodor Leschetizky and Josef Vockner . In Weimar she received lessons from Bernhard Stavenhagen .

Already at the age of 13 she appeared in public and since 1892 has made numerous very successful concert tours through Europe. She was particularly successful in England, where she often played at court and was one of Queen Victoria's favorites . At the age of 17 she already played the difficult second concerto op. 83 by Johannes Brahms in Vienna.

Her grandmother Marie Pancera geb. Clary of Marseille was a niece of Queen Julie of Naples, Duchess Maria of Albufera and Queen Desideria of Sweden .

She led three marriages, her first marriage from 1898 to 1910 to Adolf Max Blüthner , the son of the piano manufacturer Julius Blüthner , and during this time she lived largely in Leipzig. From 1924 Pancera was married to the German ariseur Wilhelm Walter Ernst Haenel (1891-1967). It was both the third marriage.

In Bad Ischl is located in the listed Vockner Villa the Haenel-Pancera family museum.
