Ellen Brandt-Forster

Ellen Brandt-Forster , also Ellen Forster-Brandt (born October 11, 1866 in Vienna , † July 16, 1921 in Baden near Vienna ) was an Austrian opera singer (soprano).

Life

Ellen Brandt-Forster studied at the Vienna Conservatory and performed for the first time in Gdansk in 1885 . From 1887 to 1906 she appeared at the Vienna Opera . In 1897 she became a chamber singer .

She was considered an excellent Wagner interpreter, but also performed successfully in the concert hall, especially with Hugo Wolf songs.
