Ellen van Langen

Ellen van Langen (born February 9, 1966 in Oldenzaal ) is a Dutch middle-distance runner .

Her greatest sporting success was winning the gold medal in the 800-meter run at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona . In a time of 1: 55.54 min. (National record) she won ahead of Russian Lilija Nurutdinova (RUS) and the favorite Ana Fidelia Quirot (CUB).

After this success, van Langen was voted Sportswoman of the Year in the Netherlands in 1992 . Since the end of her active career, van Langen has worked as an athlete manager.
