Elon Gold (born September 14, 1970 in Bronx , New York City ) is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter and producer.

Life

Gold attended the Westchester Day School in Mamaroneck and the Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy / Yeshiva University High School for Boys in New York. Before studying at Boston University , he began a career as a stand-up comedian, focusing on imitating well-known personalities such as Charles Grodin and Howard Stern . This earned him, among other things, an appearance on the Howard Stern Show . On the MTV comedy show Half-Hour Comedy Hour he had a first major appearance on the side of Chris Rock , Ray Romano and Drew Carey .

After completing his degree in economics cum laude, he continued his career as a comedian and appeared at the International Comedy Festival Juste pour rire in Montreal , among others .

He made his first television appearance in 1994 on the short-lived sketch show She TV . The series was named by Time Magazine as one of the best shows of the year and nominated for an Emmy, but it was canceled after 8 episodes.

He had greater success in 1996 with the Dana Carvey Show , where he was one of the regular cast.

In 2000, along with longtime friend and collaborator Ari Schiffer, he wrote the screenplay for Good as Gold , a pilot episode starring Mary Tyler Moore , which was not continued as a series.

He worked out his stand-up program for a television series that was broadcast from 2002 to 2003 under the title My Wife, Her Father and I , and on which he also worked as a producer. The action was based on his experience to live with his in-laws under one roof, but also took loans in the successful comedy Meet the Parents .

As an actor, Elon Gold only appeared with minor appearances in film and television, so he played the second cameraman in the comedy Cheaper by the Dozen and had guest appearances on the series Chappelle's Show and Frasier . But he gained greater fame through his leading role in the Comedy Central series Stacked , where he appeared on the side of Pamela Anderson .

He used his skills as an impersonator in 2007 for an appearance on the reality show The Next Best Thing .

Elon Gold is the older brother of RnB singer Ari Gold and the younger brother of Steven Gold, the keyboardist of the pop group The Fountains of Wayne . He lives in New York and Los Angeles with his wife and son.
