The T 17 were tank locomotives of the Reichseisenbahnen in Alsace-Lorraine . They were initially called D33.
The T 17 were composite steam locomotives of the de Glehn design . They were based on the vehicles of the Eastern Railway in France . They were equipped with two Grafenstad bogies with external frames, a Belpaire type standing boiler, live steam pipes leading down from the steam dome , an adjustable blowpipe and a tilting grate.
They were able to pull a 200-ton train over a 1% gradient at a speed of 60 km / h.
