Else Lasker Schüler Dramatist Prize
The Else Lasker Schüler Dramatist Prize of the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern (also written Else Lasker Schüler Dramatist Prize ) has been awarded since 1993 on behalf of the Rhineland-Palatinate Foundation for Culture to promote German-language drama . It was named after the émigré poet Else Lasker-Schüler (1869–1945) and is one of the most highly endowed playwright prizes in Germany.
Modalities
In addition to the main prize (originally endowed with 30,000 DM, now 10,000 euros), there is also a young talent award (originally endowed with 5000 DM, now 5000 euros), which is called the piece price . Three tiered unit prices have been awarded since 2014.
The Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern , which has the premiere option for the first piece prize ("WP in KL", see table ), conducts the competition on behalf of the foundation every two years.
The jury consists of the artistic director of the Pfalztheater, Urs Häberli , as chairman, as well as Esther Boldt, Meike Klingenberg, Franziska Schößler and Ulrich Khuon .
Traditionally, the prizes are presented by members of the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate .
