Elundini ( English Elundini Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Joe Gqabi district of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa . The town council is located in Maclear . Mayor is Nonkongozelo Ruth Lengs.

The community name is derived from an isiXhosa word Ukahlamba , but is used in isiZulu because of the cultural diversity of the region . He refers to the Drakensberg .

In 2011 the community had 138,141 inhabitants. 98.1% of these were black, 1% colored and 0.7% white. The first language was 69.6% IsiXhosa , 24.7% Sesotho , 1.7% Afrikaans and 1.6% English.
