Elyakim Haetzni ( Hebrew אליקים העצני, Born June 22, 1926 in Kiel , German Reich as Georg Bombach ) is an Israeli lawyer, settlement activist and former politician who was a member of the Knesset for the right-wing Techija party between 1990 and 1992 .

biography

Elyakim Haetzni was born in Germany in 1926 and went with his parents and sister in 1938 to the British Mandate of Palestine , where they settled in the Kerem Avraham district in Jerusalem . He studied at the Mizrachi Teachers' College in Jerusalem and became a member of the Hagana . He was badly wounded in the 1948 Palestine War and spent eighteen months in hospital.

He then continued his studies and attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem , where he finally received a law degree in 1954. During his student days, he founded the Sherut HaMitnavdim , a volunteer organization that supported immigrants and stood up against government corruption; In the course of this, Haetzni also gave up his membership in the incumbent socialist Mapai party.

In 1961 he founded a law firm in Tel Aviv . After Israel's victory in the Six Day War in 1967, he was involved in the Jewish settlement in the West Bank , including the re-establishment of the Gush Etzion block and the Jewish community of Hebron . In 1972 he moved from Ramat Gan to the newly established settlement of Kiryat Arba near Hebron. He later opened a law firm in the settlement. He became a member of the steering committee of the Yesha body and joined the Techija party. In 1988 he was on the party list for the Knesset elections, but could not get a seat. However, on January 31, 1990, he finally became a Member of Parliament when he replaced Eliezer Waldman .

Elyakim Haetzni is married and has four children.
