Emi Hasegawa ( Japanese 長谷川 絵 美 , Hasegawa Emi ; born May 8, 1986 in Yuzawa ) is a Japanese ski racer .

biography

Emi Hasegawa began her international professional career as part of an FIS race in giant slalom on the Japanese Shiga plateau on December 25, 2001. She celebrated her first victory in the Super-G on March 15, 2003 at a station in the Alpine Far East Cup in Shizukuishi , a month later she also won her first FIS slalom race in Nozawa Onsen . At the Japanese Championships in Shizukuishi and Shigakogen Nishidateyama in 2008 Hasegawa won the Super-G competition.

Hasegawa made her World Cup debut in the 2008/09 season on December 15, 2008 in Levi , Finland , but retired in the first run. In the years to come she took part in competitions in the World Cup, European Cup and FIS races. Until 2013, however, she was eliminated prematurely at every World Cup race. She reached her first World Cup points on January 4, 2013 with a 23rd place in the slalom of Zagreb , after she could not qualify for four World Cup competitions the month before.

At the 2013 Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming , Hasegawa was 19th in the giant slalom, but was eliminated in the second run of the slalom competition. In the following months she was able to win three competitions in the Far East Cup and one FIS race. In the further course of 2014 and 2015, she achieved further victories in both competitions and in the European Cup, but could no longer qualify for World Cup races or was eliminated from the competition. At the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail / Beaver Creek , she reached 28th place in giant slalom and 18th place in slalom competition.

Hasegawa started the 2015/16 season on October 24, 2015 with a 24th place in the giant slalom competition in Sölden . As a result, she was classified in the points more often than in previous years combined. She achieved the best World Cup result of her career so far on March 6, 2016 with 14th place in the Jasná slalom .
