The Emil Molt School was founded in 1952 as a free day school by Erika Birkner and Charlotte Beier in Berlin-Zehlendorf . The school was named after the founder of the first Waldorf school in Stuttgart Uhlandshöhe, Emil Molt . The school is attended by students in grades 1 to 12. The school has an after-school care center. A Waldorf kindergarten has been attached to the Emil Molt School since 2004 .
school
The Emil Molt School consists of 12 classes with 25 to 35 students each, who are taught and supervised by around 60 teachers and staff. There is also an after-school care center for grades 0 to 6 with around 70 places.
At the school there are working groups for students, parents and teachers. This includes the Molto Vitale circus group and a reading group.
In the upper level , there is an agricultural internship in the 9th grade, a field test drive in the 10th grade, an astronomy tour in the 11th grade, a three-week industrial internship in the 11th grade, the art drive in the 12th grade and a three-week social internship in the 12th grade carried out.
Around the middle of the tenth school year, a conversation takes place with each student and their parents, in which the following school years are looked at based on their performance level and work attitude. In this context, the students are given the opportunity to assess themselves.
In parallel to the verbal assessments, students from the 10th grade onwards are also given their performance level in the form of grades. Provided that the results required for this are obtained, a grade certificate of the 10th or 11th grade can be recognized as a secondary school leaving certificate. After the 12th grade, the students have the opportunity to attend the Abitur class at the nearby Rudolf Steiner School and acquire the general university entrance qualification there.
The Emil Molt School took over the "Kant Academy" for the 2008/09 school year. The name of the school was changed to "Emil Molt Academy". Various school degrees are possible at this technical college for social affairs. It offers a one-year commercial vocational school , vocational training for commercial assistants specializing in information processing or foreign languages (an additional qualification as a European secretary is possible) and the technical college in the fields of business and administration as well as health and social issues - social pedagogy in one-year and two-year courses.
The school has a school garden , which is located north of the Teltow shipyard in the Buschgraben landscape protection area near the Teltow Canal .
